There were fair entries of stock and a good attendance. There was an.improved demand for store hoggets and wethers. Fat lambs sold at late rates, and the fat sheep were easier. Fat cattle were without change, and pigs, except baconers (which were rather easier) sold at the previous week's prices. Store and dairy cattle were dull of sale. There was a smaller yarding of store, sheep than last week, the bulk being hoggets. There was a better entry of wethers, but the ewes were mostly medium sorts. The demand for hoggets was better,- especially for .ewe hoggets, and forward wethers were wanted for the balance of the turnip crop- Forward wethers- made 15s to IBs 2d, others to 14s 9d, ewe hoggets 14s. to 16s, mixed sexes (good) 12s to 12s 9d, and backward sorts 11s to Us 6d. .

Tliere was a small entry of fat hoggets and lambs, and sales were made at the previous week's rates. Hoggets sold at 12s 6d and 17s, and young lambs up to 20s 7d.

■ Tho yarding of fat sheep was about' equal in numbers to that of last week. Tho bulk was wethers, of which a considerable proportion were not well finished, and there was a number of lines of merinos. There was less competition from export buyers, and prices all round showed a reduction on last week's .range. Prime wethers made 19s 6d to 23s 9d, extra to 25s Id, medium 17s to 19s, and lighter 14s Id to 16s 6d, primo ewes 17s .to 18s 6d, medium 14s Gd to 16s 6d, aged and light. 10s 6d to 14s, prime merino wethers 14s to 16s yd, lighter 11s to 13s lid.

The supply of beef totalled 276, and tho quality was mixed, many of tho lots not being well finished. The demand was rather slack, and the sale somewhat dragging. Tho range of prices was: — Steers £5 17s 6d to £11 12s 6d (one passed at £14 ss), heifers £5 to £9 17s 6d, and cows £5 to £9 ss, and extra to £11 10s.

There was a medium yarding: of veal calves, which made 4s 6d to 50s, according to size and' quality. A small mixed 'yarding of store cattle were dull of sale, 2-year steer-s making £3 19s 6d, 2-year heifers £2 5s to £3s 3s steers £5, dry cows 15s to £3 ss.

The dairy cows were mostly inferior sorts, and sold at £2 10s to £7.

Thero was an average yarding of pigs, choppers and baeoncrs being rathei easier. Porkers and stores sold at last week's rates._ Stores were in keen de mand, especially weaners, on account of the opening of the dairy season. Choppers sold up to £4 17s 6d, baconers 51s 6d to 71s, equal to s£d to 6d per lb, porkers 33s to 48s, equal to 5d per lb, large stores 32s to 365, medium 22s to 28s, and weaners 16s to 21s.
