INVERCARGILL, September 2. At the Supreme Court, to-day, G. Robertson was sentenced to nine months' for sheep stealing. The jury recommended clemency on' the grounds of strong temptation. The Judge said that in no circumstances whatevei should probation be granted in. a casa of , sheep, stealing., which bffenco was a curse to the country.

Supreme Court to-day, upon the application of the plaintiff in tho debenture holders' action in England, who had fully investigated the accounts of the.New Zealand Receiver. Mr J. H. B. Coates, and being satisfied therewith, askedl that Mr Coates be granted a, full discharge in respect of air matters already dealt with by him. and that the balance.of the funds in his hands, after provision is made for known liabilities, t"3 handed*to the solicitors in New Zealand of the plaintiff, Mr Coates to be under no obligation to move further in respect of any outstanding matters save on the request and at,-tho expense of the plaintiff. .
