WELLINGTON v. WANGANUI.

In the opening stages of this game give and take play was indulged' in. Wanganui started an attack, but the continued hard hitting resulted in numerous twenty-fives. Wanganui continued to attack, but Christie relieved with a big hit. Williams here put in a good run, relieving the tension. Wei lirigton forwards now started a hot attack, their forwards doing some splendid passing. -Fear relieved. 'Wellington, again attacked. . Cave and Miller saving frequently. Wellington forwards came away again, but the shot went wide. Wanganui forwards now started a nice passing- rush, the ball travelling half the length' of the field, when Thomson centred to Brodie, to Coe, who shot a goal. Coe and Soler were associatedl in a good rush, but Coe's shot went wide. Another attack, and Saunders saved withf a good speculator. On changing ends Wanganui, with the sun behind, had the best of matters. They attacked continuously in the first half of this spell, but the attack was" spoilt by the forwards bunching. The attack continued. : Campbell was knocked out, but resumed. Wellington attacked. Miller conceded a line, "and Coe saved. Wellington again attacked, Miller saving. Wanganui now attacked, but Ooe's shot went wide. Coe arid Williams were here associated in some good centering. Wellington reiMnoyed play, and some exciting play was seen, but Miller saved' well, and the game ended without further score.
