THE ADMIRAL'S PRESENTS.

MELBOURNE, August 31
It has transpired that special authority of Congress is necessary before Admiral Sperry can assume possession of the costly presents made during the fleet's cruise. The regulations prevent admirals^ from accepting presents. Admiral Sperry has been provisionally accepting the gifts pending decision.
