V '-'.It■■is"-true; that,l purchased an es^--tato at'; E'tretat from Colonel - -Maple-: son," she, says; "but when the-deed was niadae iput" I asked him to be sure .awl insert niy name as Lillian■, Catkins-
; "I knew that I could /not hold property under anything but my proper, name. Colonel ; Mapleson. must' have '■confused:, the name with; that of my brother Geoi'ge>, for George, was .my "Colonel* Mapleson, is a good friend of mine. Be> gave me good advice, which I wish I had followed."
Mr G. H.-Hodgson, acousin of -Mine. Roy, who has been, interviewed here, declares that the man ' who. was killed at Newington was .undoubtedly'-her brother, and not her husband.
It is believed here that Madame Roy realised! that hor marriage to M. Roy was not valid in France, as the consent of M. Roy's parents had not been seemed, and for this reason shie had to use her maiden. name in order to acquire a legal title to- the property at Etretat. ■ •
