CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

A meeting of the Chamber of Commcrco was held at the office of the secretary, Mr. J. L. Stevenson, yesterday afternoon. PRESENT.—Messrs. G. Calmon (President), J. T. Sinclair, J. H. Keesing, E A. Campbell, T. B. Williams,.J. C. Brechin, H. C. Field. C. E. Mawkay, D. McFarlane, W. Brown, F. J. Denton, H Saro-eant, T. Higgie, and L. Jones. MINUTES.—The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed NEW MEMBERS.—Messrs. Park. Mountfbrt, and Varney were elected members. ROADS.—From W. Symes, M.H.R., promising his support in regard to getting votes for roads to Wanganui iiirland districts.

RAMEE.—From the. Ramee-growing Association, forwarding literature in regard to fibre.—Resolved, that the literature lie on the table for tbe perusal of those interested.

WHARF SHED.—From tlie Minister of Railways, stating that,the work of increasing the shed accommodation) on the wharf ivould be undertaken this year. DEPUTATION.—Mr. J. H. Keesing moved. "That a deputation proceed to Wellington to interview the Ministers of the Crown, and lay tefore them the immediate requirements for the development of lands in. and around the Wanganui district." This Avas seconded by Mr. W. Brown and carried. Members of local bodies interested in the opening up of tlhe district will bo welcomed as members of the deputation. The time of leaving will be announced in the Press.
