PRESBYTERY OF WANGANUI.
The above Presbytery met yesterday at Palmerston North" and continued its sitting; last night and this morning in order to dispose of an accurnuliation of Presbytery and Maori Mission business. There were present—Revs. McOully, Jolly, Rosa, Bndd, Hutson, Jordon, Hall, Gunn, llyburn, Fletcher, Walker, and Messrs. Scott, Tucker, Brechin, Aitken, Murray, Mcßeth, Honorse, Kilgour, McCan, and Bishop. Commissions were received from St. Andrew's, Wanganui.- in favour of Mr. G. Scott; Taihape, Mr. Bishop; Turakina, Mr. R. H. Simpson; Bulls, Mrs. J. Kilgour. Apologies were received from Rev. A. Morion and Messrs. R. K. Simpson and A. G. Simpson. Clerk.—Roy. R, McCully, of Turakina, was appointed clerk. Moderator.—Rev. v. Hutson was chosen moderator for tho ensuing s!x months. Rev. G. Budd was appointed "Outlook' reporter for the meeting. Gall from Bulls.—A call, signed by 37 members and 47 adherents, was submitted from Bulls in favour of Rev. Evan G. Evans, of Mahurangi, was sustained. The .stipend offered was £175 with a promise that if Carnarvon be added to the charge it would bo £200. Messif?. Stevenson and Kilgour appeared in support, of the call. It was agreed that if Mr. Evans accept tho call that tho induction triko place at -the- next ordinaiy meeting of Presbytery, tfte Presbytery to meet at a time suitable to tho circumstances. Ifc was further agreed that, if the call be accepted, Roy. G. Budd conduct the public service, Rev. B. Hutson induct, Revs. Ryburn and Jolly address the congregation, and the minister respectively. The Rev. A. Doull, of Otaihainu was asked to appear before tho Auckland Presbytery in support of tho call.
The usual reports of stations were rendered by the different moderators, and they showed satisfactory progress in almost every place. Revs. Ryburn and Hutson reported on their visitation to- Rewla, Halcombo,
and Marton, and suitable deliverances there ai'.ent. were passed. It was arranged that Mr. Hall read the deliverance for Rewa. In the evening .a public meeting was held in St. Andrew's Hall, -when able rand interesting addresses were given by Revs. Ryburn. McCully, arid Mr. Bishop on church extension work. The Presbytery met as a Maori Mission Committee, till is morning, transacting a considerable amount of important business of a private, nature.
