AUCKLAND'S SEWAGE OUTLET.

AUCKLAND, June 11. At a meeting of the Harbour Board the Chairman (the Hon. E. Mitchelson) presiding, the important matter of considering the adoption of the City Council's suggestions respecting the discharging of sewage matter at the proposed outlet near Okarhu Point was considered. Considerable objection was shown, and on the motion of Mr. .Napier it wa^s decided to refer it to. arbitration. . XT . , Mr. Basley, in suportmg Mr. Napier s motion. saiJkluo regard must be paid to future requirements. He thought that in 50 years the city would contain nearly 2,000,000, and would extend from the Tamaki Head to the Whau Canal.
