CAVALRY v. RIFLES.

To the Edi-fcor

Sir, —For somo time a-desire has been expressed that the old jmembers of the Alexandra Cavalry and the Wanganui Rifles should have a reunion in. a rifle anatch. On behalf of the Rifles the following names at*e suggested:— I'Capt. John Watt, -Lieut. W, H. G. Foster, Lieut. R .Hughes, S.M. (champion), Col.-Sgt. Rochyell; Sergt J. Arm.■rtrong, Sgt. Remmingtdn, G.M. (champion), Cpl. .Hooker, Vol. W. Armstrong, Vol. Churlon, G.M. (champion), Vol. Moosman, G.I>.:M. (district gold medallist). Vol. Pa-wson, Vol; J. Anderson, and Vol. Sarten. Would Lieut. Morgan, of the 'Alexandra Cavalry, get his men together, and then a date can be fixed and application for range made. It is .-.nggested that the Cavalry should have the choice of date, as they being farmers, and this theiry busy time, every opportunity must bo sriven them to get into trim to meet such -worthy foes, at the same time not forgetting that vigorous training is needed by our men to get into anything like comfortable shooting condition. Through the courtesy of Major Hughes, I am allowed to fix arrangements -with Lieut. Morgan.—l am, etc., OLIPHANT HUGHES.
