PRESENTATION.

At the conclusion of the business the Chairman said he hud a pleasing duty *o perform. He referred in dowin^ terms to the services rendered irf the past by Mn-. W. J. Tennent, who wan about to leave Marton for Hawkf's Bay. Tlio speaker said he- .simply voiced the sentiments of the members of the Bowling; Club when ho «ikl lis. wr.us sorry that Mr. and Mrs. Tennent Mere leaving them. Mr. Tennent had devoted >n. lot of time to the cLub, and had laid out/the green at his own cost, which would have been a very expensive undertaking had labour been employed. A mead of praise was a'^o paid to Mrs. Tennent for her labour in en-t-fctainino; visitors. On behalf of tin? jncmber.-j of tho club, Mr. Gibbons then presented Mr'. TennenF, for himself -and his wife, witli a handsome flilve-r spirit kettle mid a case containing a sot of fruit knives and forks.

Mr. J. MeEldownie, the vice-presi-dent, followed with a few appropriate i-em,3>!-ks, and expressing regret at losing Mr. .and Mrs. Teiment, wishing them lioi:V;th-and prosperity in the future.
