MISCELLANEOUS. It war. resolved to approve of a sublease of lot'; 1 and 2 of section 4, block 14, Ohiuewairua, from A. H. Barsby to J. G. Oklham on the usual condition i. A report, was received from the Crown Lands Ranger on F. Thompson's ■application to bo allowed to cut dead tree'i on sections 12 and 13, block 5, Huangarua- (Tawaiha- Settlement). The request was approved, providing Ma-. Thompson dees not damage the standing bush, when felling the dead trees. The Commissioner advised the Board that tho old road through sections 7 and 8, block 5, Taihape, had now been clcse-d, and tho question of laying off v. new read and then dealing with the section could bo considered by the Board.—The propo seel rearrangement and disposal of sections 7 and 8 was approved. With reference to tho reservation of section 231, Shannon, an a site for a public library and Mechanics' Institute, p- report w.as received from the ranger. The Board agreed to vest the section in trustees) for a Mechanics' Institute.

Have", and others, asking that sections 11," 12, and 13, block 11, and section 27. block 15, Makuri, bo cpened for sottloment and balloted- for amongst the petitioneis. It was decided to advise the petitioners that section 11 isnot Crown land, and as the other sectionf: are reserved for forest and climatic purposes, and are net contiguous to tho holdings .of the petitioners, thero was no power to grant the request. Tho Commissioner submitted- a report by members of the Board who visited and inspected tho proposed rubbish reserve on the foreyt reserve section 021), block 13, Apiti. It Avas agreed to take action to stop the deposit of rubbish on the land.
