A LOST LAUNCH.

DANNEVIRKE, July 13. The :lc-ci.sion of the Court of Enquiry into tho loss of the oil launch Akitio, with two men, was that the launch returned from Porangah'au to Akit-'o and anchored outside Akitio River. During the night a- storm came up, necessitating tJio crew putting to .sea. The launch evidently swamped, and the men were drowned. The Court found that tho vessel was seaworthy, but. had not >a duly qualified master on board, and that the owners were not justified in ending the vessel on the voyage to Porangahau. Costs amounting to £8 13s 8d were given against the Akitio Totara Sawmilling Company.
