NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE COMPANY'S REPORT.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agtncy Company, Limited, report ;-as follows:— "

At to-day's sale wa catalogued and ■ sold about 40 bags wool, 1300 ekins, 280 "hides, and a quantity of tallow and "horse hair. There was the usual attendance of buyers, competing eagerly "for every lot. Fair price® were obtained for bag lots of wool, dry long woolled skins and pelts being a shade higher -than last- sales, and green skins showed a substantial advance. We quote: - Skins.—Merino and fine crossbred B|»d to 9id; coarse crossbred, B^d to 9d; pelts, from 7£d to B|d: dead and damaged skins, from sgd to B|d per lb.; lamb skins, from 7ld to 9id per lb.; -green pslts, from 2s to 3s 9d; green "lamb skins to 3s 7d. - Wool.—ln baas, crossbred fleece, 7^d to 9|d; pieces from' 4Jd to 6Jd; locks, 3£d to 4d. HideS-—Ox and cow, sound, from UJd to 6d; cut and damaged, 3d to s{d ; . calfskins, sound, from 6£d to B|d; damaged. 3^d to 6Jd . , '«, Tallow.—ln casks, good mixed, 21s

Horse hair sold well at late rates
