MESSRS. LEVIN AND CO.'S SALE.

Messrs. Levin and Co., Limited, report :— . . . .. - The first sale of the new season's; clip was held at the Art -Gallery, Wellington, the various brokers. offering 1400 -bales, to which we 450 bales. The wet spring has interfered with shearing, and this accounted for the small offerings. We had a .considerable proportion of good wools in our catalogue—light in condition and_ well grown. There was a good attendance of buyera from all parts. Bidding was very brisk at an advance of to |d all round on prices ruling at the November sale last year. The following is the range of prices, last year's being in parenthesis:— ■ ',•,,, Halfbreds (9id to 10£ d), lOd to lid. Superior crossbreds (lOd to lO^d), 10^d to 10|d. ,*«,•, Medium crossbreds (9d to 9|d), 9Jd Coarse crossbred (Bfd to 9£d), 9d to 9|d. Inferior and log-stained (8d to BJd), 8d to 9d. Pieces and bellies (s£d to 6£d), 6d to 7|d. Locks (3d to 4d), 3d to 4|d. Tho following are some of the results.
