Sir,—l feel that I am only one of many who were staggered and horrified "by the extraordinary peroration of Mr. J. A. Palmer at the No-License meeting held on Saturday night. I am not a shorthand writer, but I do not think that anybody will deny that Mr. Palmer used these words: "Last Saturday night Mr. Dewdney appealed to the people when they go into the polling booth on December 6th to strike out tho top line for the sake of God and humanity. Now, I gay to you, when you go to the poll on December 6th, for the sake of God and humanity

leave the top line as it stands." Now, Mr. Palmer, I would like'you to answer this question: What is there about your trade that warrants its continuance "for the sake of God"? Also tell tho world in what way your bar benefits humanity, and why it should be continued for "the sake of hmanity"? I don't think any ordinary man can give any reasons for its continuance, but you, who could so far forget yourself as to make un« 3of the language you employed on Saturday night, may be able to do so. If you don't answer these questions per medium of the Press, you may expect them on Saturday night. I ask you these questions riot personally, but in your official capacity as President of the Association, in which capacity you uttered the worth*. —I am, etc., DISGUSTED.
