STOMACH ACIDJTY. - Excessive acidity, of- the stomach contenta prevents fermentation of foods: tho food is often digested rapidly, and tho tongue as a rule is not coated, but ha;; an inflamed appearance. When there is a lack of acid the food does not digest readily, and owing to the dilation of tho organs is retained longer than it should be, and undergoes fermentation.
