The Manawatu Golf Championship opened tin fine weather.' The following eight qualified for the play off for the Men's Championship:—J. Harold (Wanganui), 172; C. K. Sims (Manawatu), 180; C. C. Cox (Masterton), 181; E. S. Pearoe (Wellington), 182; A. Strong (Manawatu), 183; P. C. iFreeth (Mana-Av-atu), 184; Kurepo Tareha (Hawke's Bay), 185: I. Saunders (Dannevirke), 186.

The Men's Stroke Competition was won by C. C. Cox, 181—.16, 165; P. Sim, 191—20, 169; E. S. Pearce, 182—12, 170.

The men'sl tlrive and approach was wen by Kurepo Tareha (sft. 11 in). The following qualified in the Ladies' Championship : —Miss James (Wellington) 98, Mrs'PeiTy (Hawke's Bay) 105, Miis Johnston (Hutt) 105, Mrs Campbell (Ohristchuroh) 106; Mrs Sfcraong 117, Mm Moore 118, Mrs Abraham 118, Miss E. Abraham 119.

Miss James won tho Ladies' Stroke Competition, Mrs: Moor© being second, and Mrs Perry third. Miss James also Avon the drive and approach, and Miss Campbell the putting.
