PROGRESSIVE PALMERSTON.
PALMERSTON NORTH, July 12
Tho new Opera House, which has cost about £10,500, and which is one of the largest and most up-to-date in the colonies, was opened by tho Mayor and Mayoress to-day, in the presence of about two thousand citizens. It will b« used for the first time on Friday for the Orchestral concert, in which Miss Aimy"! Murphy, Fred. Graham, Maughlau Barnett, and others will participatej in aid of the funds of the hospital. Tickets have sold • readily from £2 2s. to 55., and already £350 worth of seats have been booked.
