A clever amendment of Mr. Taylor's proposes to clear up all anomalies before increasing thepay, but it is discovered that theYoung New Zealand Party is nothing... but the Progressive Party of-last week,and so the interest has evaporated. The debate weakens from half hour to half horn', and tbo end is nigh. THE YOUNG NEW ZEAL ANDERS. The defeat of the Progressive YoungNew Zealanders by the enemy generally this morning was decisive, the majority against them being twenty, the ir— reducible minimum of the majority being 15. The explanation in this instance is that several Oppositionistswho object to being dragged at the* Taylor chariot wheels either refrained* from voting or went into the lobby witfethe Government. Anyhow, it was thebest effort against the Government-/ position, and it was heavily repulsed— Tho air is now clearer than ever.
