LONDON, July 12
The captain of the St. Kilda, interviewed by the Marseilles correspondent of the Marseilles Journal, stated that the commander of the Dnieper intimated at Port Said that he was taking us to Russia. One of us escaped and appealed to the British Consul. The captains of the cruisers Lancaster and Siffolk and the Consul came aboard and demanded our release. The commander refused. The Consul and the captains departed after warning the commander that special measures would bo taken unless the Britishers were liberated in an hour and a quarter. An hour later the Lancaster raised anchor as if approaching the Dnieper- The commander thereupon permitted us to leave with our luggage.
