DEATH OF FATHER BENEDICT.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 11. The death of Father Benedict occurred this afternoon, after a brief illness. Bishop Lenefoan was with his friend, who was [ unconscious during the day and in his last moments. He was 61 years of ago. About 1901 he came out from England on a five years' leave of absence for the benefit of his health, and was attached hy Bishop Lenehan to this diocese, .iii which he has devoted himself to holding missions and retreats iq: thj ole'rgy arid laymen.
