ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Per* Press Association. TAIHAPE, November 30. A load of timber, drawn by two horses, was crossing the tram bridge* over the Hautapu River at Utiku, when the bridge .canted clean over. The horses and timber fell a, clean drop of 200 feet and were dashed to pieces. The two men who were wUth the load managed' to save themsdlves by dinging to the wire rope overhead. : . i-.X OHRIST(DHURGH, November 30. : . WESTPORT, November 30. An accident occurred yesterday at the railway workshops. Roderick George Ohisholm, a son of Oons'taWe Chisholm, an apprentice, in .the workshops, stepped backawards in front of .•an. engine and was caught by tihe cowcatcher. He (had InJs left foot ground a 'Imost to pulp. The foot was amputated above the ankle. At Millexiton, Mrs. Elizabeth Keepin, 33 years of age, swallowed' on Saturday a dose of acid in mistake for Epsom salts. Sho lingered' oh til'j .'. yesterday mqrniing, when she passed away. She waia a mariited woman, with no family, and 'has been residing at-Millerton for foul' monthi.

At Ghaiilesiton, Mrs.C. Lempfert had ia.n arm brokeai by the capsize of a trap, ■the 'horse breaking through the roadway.
