PALMERSTON N., Sept. 16. A peculiar case was heard at the Miagis'trate's Court to-day. Evidence went to show that John Henry Woolhouse, for whom a warrant was out for wife c"esf rticn, returned unexpectedly to his wife's cottnge, 'and after remaining there a time got into altercation with the woman, whom he struck in the face. She left for a neighbour's. Woolhouf-e was fjeen to depart soon after, and the house wa^ seen to be on fire and. was burned to the ground. Woolhouse was sentenced to two mouths for desertion, and Avas committed for trial for arson. ■
