United. Press Association—Copyright. MELBOURNE, September 16. A inysteraous tragedy is reported at Ararat. Two brothers named Walsh and their sister resided together. The body of the sister was found' near a dam. She had evidently been drowned, and the body had been removed, from the water some days. The body of one-brother was found-floating on the water, with a gunah'ot- wound in the head. The other brother is missing. Walsh is eccentric, and will hold no intercourse witih anyone. He has 'refused to receive letters.
The body of Edward Bertram Hammond was found on the Sandringham 'beach', shot in the head. A loaded revolver was tied to & tree, a piece of twine attached enabling him to pull the trigger. He had written on the sand "Good-byie. Liife is not worth living."
The Central Executive of the PoM'tidal Labour Council has adopted a resolution ■that it in no way endoiises the alliance >of "the Fedeml Pairliamentairy 1/a'b-our Party • with tlhe I/.beiral Protectionists, and will not promise to withhold its opposition to any candidate not pledged to the Federal platform of one Political Labour Council.
