A London cable announces the death of Thomas Russell, a former Ministei' of Defence for Ne\y Zealand.
Ser.gea.nt Norwood, who has been in Napier during the past few days, returned ihome on, (Friday evening. Dr. Hancock, ih& principal medical officer of the eastern dhrisioni of New Guinea, has succumbed to fever.
