All entries, nominations, etc., will close at the Secretary's Office, New Plymouth, at 9 p.m., except when otherwise specified. All entries to be sealed, and addressed to the Secretary, Taranaki Jockey Club, New Plymouth, entrance money enclosed, with the name, age at the time of entry, name of owner, pedigree, colours of the rider, and in the ca<e of handicaps, performances of the horse. Entries made by telegraph must be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible time, or nominator may be fined a sunv not exceeding £10. See Rule 40. Owners, Trainers and others enterling and accepting horses for the fI\J.C. .Meetings are notified that no entries or acceptances will be received unless accompanied by the necessary amount in cash. ■.-■■■ Any owner failing to declare his colours at time of entry will be fined 2 soys, unless the colours of the Owner of the horse are duly registered. It is now compulsory on Stewards to inflict a nne of not less than 1 soy upon any person running a hors^ in wrong colours. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to tho Secretary, or Clerk of the Scales, one half-hour before the official time for starting the race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be imposed by tho Stewards,, not exceeding 20 soys. In accordance with Rule 143a (for the purpose of forming a Fund to answer claims under "The Workman's Compensation for Accidents Act") no horse will bo allowed to start unless a receipt shall be first produced for £1, paid in respect of such horse to the Secretary of the Conference. • j Every sGentleman Rider, Jockey, or Apprentice must produce his license to the Clerk of the Scales. Minimum weight, 9st. Nomination, 1 soy; acceptance 1 soy. Seven furlongs. 4. First Handicap Hurdles.—2.ls p.m. Of GO-sovs. Second horse to receive , 10 soys from the stakes. Over six flights of hurdles, 3ft Cm high. Nomination 1 soy; acceptance 1 soy.One mile and a half. 6. Christinas Handicap.—3 p.m. Or 100 soys.
