Breeders of draught horses who have always patronised Mr W. H. Anderson's well-known horse Craigallechie will be pleased to hear that one-of his progeny, McPherson Grant, gained first and champion prize at the recent Hawke's Bay Show. The champion is a truly magnificent specimen of the Clydesdale —si beautiful dark brown, of. splendid proportions and. rare quality. His sire is a grey, and his dam a chestnut, and yet he is .a beautiful dark brown. # There were no less than eight entries in the class, consisting of the best horses in the Hawke's Bay district, so,that it redounds greatly to his credit to carry off the championship in such company. The progeny is the best recommendation of a sire, and this should help to keep Mr Anderson's horse well to the front again this season. [The bridegroom is tihe Bth duke, and was born in 1876. He succeeded his ■father in 189i4. was educated at Ebon. College, antl ouvhs about 60,500 broad! acres. The Duke served with the Household Cavalr- Composite Regimeufc in South Africa in 1900.]
