No Shield mutches were played yesterday. However, two very initerestdng games were played—Wanganpi A played the Colilege team at 2 o'clock, and Wanganui B again tried conclusions with T.Y.M.I. The former game proved very fast and open. Wanganui scored two goals in rapid succession during the first five minutes, by Loftus and Ryan respectively; -but after this ithe College rallied snd made i«- hard fight, Atkinson scoring their only goal; Some really excellent play on, both sides was noticeable, the College passing rushes being a treat to witness, and each player seemed to know the value of keeping Ms position. The defence of the Wanganui team "was sound, while thsir forwards gave a very creditable display. As the College ■players were pressed for time, the game lasted only forty minutes, but the game was fast and interesting throughout, and no spell was taken. The game ended in favour of Wanganui by 2 goals to 1. The play of the College team was much admiral, and the general opinion! was that it is b pity that they did not enter for the Shield contest. Another match between these teams will be looked forward to with interest.

The game between Wanganui B and T.Y.M.I. was played on No. 1 Ground, ■and a great improvement was noticed in the play of some of the new members. At the conclusion of the game the referee's tally showed the scores to be Wanganui 5, T.Y.M.I. 2.

In all (probability a game will be arraalged between Wanganui A and Wanganui B teams next Thursday.
