MUNICIPAL POLL.
CHRISTCHURCiH, January 22. Considerable iiitemsb was taken in tihe polling to-day on.the-subject of a Greater ChrUstcburch, and the proposal for amalgamation of the city and adjoining boroughs was carried by overwhelming majorities. The figures were: —Christchurch: For amalgamation 1208, against 79i St&lhn.ni: For 425, against 238. Linwood: For 599, against 145. The Sydenham poll will be taken on I February" 4.
