MELBOURNE, October 3
The Federal House has passed the Estimates, including an additional amount of £257,000 which was necessitated; by the refusal of the House to sanction a loan policy. This will involve a total reduction of £220,000 in the amount to be returned to the States. The balance will be taken from the ordinary Estdmtes.
On the motion of Sir William Lyne the House agreed to all the amendments made by the Senate in the Electoral Bill.
Mr. George R«id. protested against the "humiliating backdeiwn," on the part of the Government after compelling members to hold out for so long.
The House adjourned till Thursday with a view of proroguing on Friday.
