In chambers this morning Mr. Bell, fdr. defendants, asked Mr. Justice Edwards to give a day for the further hearing of the case William Reid- r. the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, ioroe time after the Court of Appeal and before his Konoir went to Blenheim, and moie particularly fotr the. delivery of judgment as early as possible jn the case of Thomas Mitchell v. the New Zealand Loan i and Mercantile Agency Company and two others. He stated t-ktt-until tlhe judgmentwas delivered iii Mitchell's case the defendant company was holding possession of the Animohd Freezing Works in a, kind of qualified way under an injunction of the Court, and as freezing was almost beginning again, and the works consequently required alterations and additions, it was A rery desirable that judgment in Mitchell's actiimi '.should be delivered if possible befc/re the Court of Appeal sat. < His Honor adimitted the hardship on the parties of delay, but could not see how it could be avoided with.suoh pressure of woik. As to Reid's case, he supposed plaintiff Reid would be entitded to have b'vick his mortgage. Mr. Boll: Yes, if he redeems and then the question will be whether the defendants' addition!? and ateratdons will be charged for. His Honor stated that., all he could say was fli-.it he would do-, his utmost to give effect to Mr. Bell's wish.
