TO STAND THIS SEASON IN THE WANGANUI DISTRICT. THE THOROUGHBRED HORSE FISKE (By Nordenfeldt—M- Idea). Attention is drawn to the exceptionally good breeding of FISKE, as his sire, Nordenfeldt. was by the celebrated Musket out of Onyx, by Angler, a son of the famous Fisherman. The dam of Fiske was My Idea. This mare was bred in New South Wales, and was by Yattendon, her dam Ladybird, by imp. Boiardo, out of imp. Mirror, by Sir Hercules. My Idea was the dam of Nelson, one of the greatest horsas tlfat ever raced in the colony, and Fiske is his half-brother. Firke is in colour a dark chestnut; standin? about 16 hands high, powerfully built, with a cannon bone of 8| inches, and measuring 19.4 inches round the arm. He is very docile in tsmper, and has proved himself a sure foal getter. Fiske was bought by Mr G. G. Stead for £640 as a yearling. Will be at Waitotara Mon'ays and Marton Thursdays. Apply B. McCAUL.
