THE TREASON LAWS.
STATEMENT BY KRUITZINGER
Received October 2, 10.16 p.m. CAPETOWN, October 2. In the Cape Assembly Mr. Smartt's motion in favour of making the treason-laws more stringent was negativedl by 34 to 13. Commandant Kruitzinger has sailed for England on a, few months' pleasure tour. Interviewed, he said he was thoroughly reconciled, and he predicted a speedy quietsettlement of South African affairs.
