He would prefer censure on the grounds of the whole administration with regard to the case, as there are iadictnsents. He denied! that the principle of
trial by jury was threatened', and claimed tHat the usual practice had been followed. He asked the House not to blam \ the Attorney-General for committing an error of judgment, especially when the error was on the side of clemency. After the Premier's speech interest flagged, and it was difficult to maintain a quorum.
