A Melbourne cable ways that further representations have been mado hy the Presbyterian Church to Mr Barton on the subject of French aggression in the New Hebrides. Mr Bai'ton, replying, stated that in February last he recommended the Imperial Government to establish a tribunal to deal with land disputes, more frequent visits of warships, periodical visits of the Hi«h Commissioner of the Western Pacific, and the appointment of a British Resident. The Imperial Government agreed to all except the land tribunal, which is still the : subject of communications.
