OPERA HOUSE.

LIEDERTAFEL CONCERT. TO-NIGHT. One .of the glees to be performed this evening, entitled "The Frog," in a decidedly humorous composition. "Froggic" has' an ambition tor appear as big as an ox, and he energetically set about accomplishing this desire. To those who attend Uw concert the singers will continue tlunarrative and also point the moral. "Joy Waltz" is th» .popular arrangement of Strauss' famous "Blue Danube," which has been sung and played in a'most eveiy country and every language. But perhaps the most flattering tribute to 4ts universatility and popularity is conveyed in the fact that the "Syche'm" foretold by Mr. Wragge, which recently visited the South Island continuously whistled it in Irish. Beethoven's "Hymn to Night" is equally well known, while "Comrades in Arms'" and "The Young Musicians" are alwayt favourite numbers." "The Sea Fight" we ■have referred to previously, and the remaining item, "The Gondolier's Serenade," will certainly not be the least popular. Mrs* Hoult, Mi.'lses Mcßeth and Griffiths will sing- Bennett's familiar trio, "With a Laugh as We go Round." The above programme,, assisted by such jiccomplished soloists a« the Misses Maginnity and McAlpine, and Mr. J. W. Hill, constitutes ;i splendid bill of fare, and there is nothing astonishing in the fact that a large number of tickets ha.ye been disposed of. The concert will start punctually at h o'clock, and the doors will be closed dur ing the performance 'oi each number.
