LIZZIE BELL FUND.
The committee appointed to administer tlifl monies of the above fund met at Pihama on Wednesday, August 21. Present. —Rev. A. W. Compton (chairman), Messrs H. M. Good, I. Lambie, A. McKeown, and H. Wagstaff. Various designs of tombstones and fencing were submitted by Messrs J. A. Moyers .(Hawera), W. F. Brooking (New Plymouth), Cummins and Christie (Opunake), .and W. Mansfield (Wellington). After •discussion and careful consideration as to the most appropriate form of iho monument in general, and guided by several suggestions received from different sources, it was unanimously resolved that the Rev. Compton visit New Plymouth and arrange -with Mr Brooking for the completion of iihe work. a The credit balance of the Tund is about .£llO. The probable tost of tombstones and fencing will amount to about £50. The committee desire to state that there ;are several cases deserving of help, and •further contributions would be thankfully received. These may be sent to Mr H. ■Wagstaff, hon. secretary and treasurer, Tihama. ... The committee beg to acknowledge, with thanks, the following contributions—Collected by the Mayor of Hawera, £30 8s; St. Mary's Church, New Plymouth £7 ss; collected by the Mayor and Mr J. Mynott, of New Plymouth, £27 13s 6d; various sums, £6 17s 6d.
