WAIRARAPA v. WELLINGTON.

WELLINGTON", August 24. The Wcllington-Wairarapa match was evenly contested, but was rough. Meredith and Wallace were injured, and retired. The first half was in favour of Wellington, and the last half all in favour of Wairarapa. Wallace, Sweeney and Dodd scored tries for Wellington, and Rogers, McMaster and Moore for Wairarapa. None were converted. Wellington play and kicking were miserable. Wairarapa played a fair game. The contest, which • epded in a draw (9 points each), was exciting throughout, and was witnessed by a large crowd. The weather was fine, and everything in favour of a good game. Mr Cargill made a. satisfactory referee. Wairarapa passed splendidly, and also made good loose rushes. Wellington made an excellent defence.'
