JOSEPHINE STANTON AMERICAN OPERA COMPANY.

Through unfoTseen ciraumsbances, Uie management of tihe Stanton Company have been compelled to alter their opening bill on Tuesday next to "Wang," and "Maritana" will be the bill for the second night. "Wang" is entirely an American opera by Goodwin a.nd Morse, who have given many successful works to the stage, but yh'e piece which established their. reputation was unquestionably "Wang." The New Zealand Times, in speaking of "Wang," said, "It is a Mark Twain lecture, a Sullivan opera, and a Bland Holfc prodigy rolled into one, and by far the funniest opera we have seen here for years." It was played for over three hundred nights in NeAV York, and met with great success t'lm-ough the States. The music is pretty and tuneful, the dialogue crisp, and the fun veiy quaint, so at last we shall see an American opera played by an American company. "Maritana" will be played the second night, and a change of opera each night.
