AUCKLAND, March 4.
The Federation Commission onened today, all the witnesses being opposed to Federation.
The Hon W. Rolleston said a 'mutual federal tie without any surrender of local autonomy would be to the mutual advantage of Australia and New Zealand. Common interests could be regulated, by a commercial treaty. The -evidence of other witnesses was mainly a repetition of that given in the South.
