ALLEGED MISCOXDUCT. ■ ■'■(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 18i At' a meeting of the committee of the. Rugby Union, attention was drawn to the charges made against the Canterbury team, which recently visited Lceston, by Walter Spring, hotelkeeper at Leeston, in the columns of the, Sportsman. .Spring, in reply to «■ request, to attend, wrote stating that he had nothing-to add to what he had already written, but enclosing a statement from the licensee of the Sprfngston Hotel that nine members of the Canterbury team visited her hptel and had- nine drinks, 1 for which they paid 2s 6d, and also possessed themselves of some bottles of lemonade which were not paid for. The committee, after hearing the evidence of Evans, one of the officials who accompanied the team, decided that it was* satislied that there were no grounds for the charges made by Spring as to the behaviour of the-Canterbury B team at Leeston, and that hia charges were quite unwarranted. It was decided to investigate- the Springston incident at the meeting on Tuesday next, and to call upon the members of the team to be present. t - ■
