Hoskmg, of Masterton, who was through the siege of Mafeking* He went to England in 1897, and subsequently went to the Cape, joining HoreV Protectorate Regiment when , there was a prospect of war." The Protectorate' Regiment .was in Mafeking when the Boer ultimatum' was delivered.
