THE PLEIADES.
■ The Ka&ii called st Akitio on her way up to Napier, and found the stranded ship Pleiades to be much in the same position as when last reported, On the return trip the .little steamer was unable to work any of the -coastal stations on acconnt of the heavy southerly, swell,, which would cause the -vessel- on the. beach to strain severely., --. It is significant as to the. fate of tht Pleia- ', des that' ho tenders were received for re- , '.-floating and, delivering the vessel in Wel- •-'. lington on the "no cure no .pay, arrangement " Sprile intending contractors were prevented from, putting, in a price by the nature of some of the conditions-to be complied with. •-■ The stranded vessel and her. fittings will how most probably be sold at .-ftnetibn.
