FIRE BRIGADE SOCIALS.

The Brigade at a meeting after the practice last night, decided to hold a teries of 10 fortnightly socials, the first of which is to be held on tha last Friday in April. The followiDg were appointed a.coramittee j —Captain Gronn, Lieutenant Campbell, Foreman Stewart, Secretary Thompson, Firemen J. Bell, H Bell and Q. Armstrong. It was decided to charge 2s 6d admission for ordinary nights, and 3s for long nightsMessrs Stewart and Bell were appointed to make the best arrangements for one of the halls and for music. Mr Say well received a bruising that will incapacitate him for some days. While saddling 'a horse in his stable this morning I lie animal ran back and crowded Mr Saywell with much force against the side of the stall. A. Committee meeting of the Chrysanthemnm, Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Show (to be he'd on Thursday, 27th 6 pril next) was held in the Presbyterian Chuich on Wednesday Evening, when final arrangements for the Show were dealt with. Canvassers were appointed to wait on the country farmers for produce, etc., and also the town. Replies were also received from the different judges appointed, accepting same. Staging committees were arranged for placing exhibits in position on arrival. Exhibito.s are also reminded that classes" in the printed schedule, 9, 10 and 11 in the Open Class are also added to the Jisc in the Amateur Glass. In the rules a slight alteration should he made in No. 4. Classes 2, 3, 7, should read, 13. 14, 17 ; also Rule 10 (except class 94 to 97 inclusive, and which we should remind exhibitors to note.
