SPECIAL MEETING.
The same Councillors were present when two special rating orders were made. (1) The local Bodies Loans Act, 1886" mak ing and levying a special rate of one-twentieth of a penny in the £ over all ratable property in the Wanganui County, payable yearly on the Ist day of April, to provide interest and sinking fund upon a loan of £3000 raised by the Wanganui CountyCouncil for the purpose of re-buildiug the Mangawhero, Wangaehu, and Heao Bridges. (2) That a special rate of one-twentieth of a penny in the JB under the provisions of the " Local Bodies. Loan Act, 1886" and " The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," and amendments thereto for 2b years on all ratable property within tbs Wanganui County, and that the said special rate shall be an annual recurring rate and shall be payable in one sum on the Ist of April in each year, the first payment to become due and payable on the Ist day of April, 1900. It was resolved that a special meeting of the Council be held on Wednesday, the 10th day of May, 1899 S to confirm the abova resolution.
