Influenza is raging amongst the Lancashire operatives. Mr. Lehunte, the • new Governor of New Guinea, hud an interview with Premier Reid ;tt Sydney. It is understood that when he reaches New Guir.ea he will for some months travel about the islands, and then submit a scheme of development to the Premier. Mr. Luli-iile informed the press representatives that he intended to continue the late Governor's policy of development. The Registrar's estimate of tbe late South Australian wheat harvest is 9,816,000 bushels. The average is six bushels 201 b per acre. About 174,507 tons will be available for export. The J -Uernian Liner Prinz Regent Linttold was quarantined on arrival at Perth, ones of the crew suffering from smallpox. General Booth is amongst the passengers, ami his being detained will upset the plans of his tour.
