RESULTS.

At the conclusion of the trombone solos the judge made the following announcement of ,the results :■ -■•

Bb Bass.— ls. C. Eraser, 37 points, 1 ; B. Holberi, 35 points, 2 ; W* Smith, 34 points'; A. Baker, 34 points; A. G. But■Jer, 30 points. With the Bb playing, Mr. Schfartz expressed himself disappointed, ■especially with the tone, which" was almost entirely absent, and he considered that the prize-winners were very fortunate in not having keener competition. Eb Bass.— T. Gray, 40 points, 1; H. Dixon, 39 points, 2 ; S. Geary, 38 points ; J. Fitzsinunons, 37 "points; T. Me Arthur, 36 points ; B. Holben,. 36 • points ; P. A. Johnson, 36 points ; W. Jones, 35 points ; F. Kendall, 34 points. With the Bb playing the judge expressed himself far more .pleased, and highly- complimented the winner for his tone, to whom he gave lull points. - Slide -Trombone. — H. Cummins,' <?0 points, 1; T. ' Tombs, 32 points ; Wt. Graham, 32 points-. Speaking of the trombone, the judge remarked that the whole- of them were fuzzy'"" in tone, and very little trombone playing h|d been shown. The winner, however, had been the exception, and he was closely followed by Mr. Lamb.
