At the conclusion of the trombone solos the judge made the following announcement of ,the results :■ -■•

Bb Bass.— ls. C. Eraser, 37 points, 1 ; B. Holberi, 35 points, 2 ; W* Smith, 34 points'; A. Baker, 34 points; A. G. But■Jer, 30 points. With the Bb playing, Mr. Schfartz expressed himself disappointed, ■especially with the tone, which" was almost entirely absent, and he considered that the prize-winners were very fortunate in not having keener competition.
