RANGITIKEI NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent) Mahton, Wednesday. Mr Morris, who takes over Mr Ingle' shop on the Ist August, is to be succeeded by Mr G. Goebel, who will run the busi-' ness for Mr Dommett. The Fire Brigade Meeting takes place on Thursday niglit. Druid Lodge. i There was a pood attendance at the | meeting of the Druid Lodge last night, the occasion being the half-yearly meeting far the purpose of electing and installing the officers for the ensuing term, and receiving an official visit from D.6.P. Bio. Purnell; and D.P. Bro. Simpson. This year the choice of Arch Druid fell upon Bro. G. Stafford, one of the pioneer members of the Lodge, and one who has always taken the keenest interest in the welfare of the Lodge, and no doubt the Lodge, under his guidance, will continue on its prosperous and harmonious career. The election lor th« other officers resulted as follows :— V.A.D., Bro. H. C. Gronn ; Secretary, P.A. Br,o. Funston ; Treasurer, P.A. Bro. Pederson (9th term) : 1.G., Bro. A. W. Humphrey ; A. D.B. 's, Bros. H. Sterling and W. Thorburn ; V. A.D.B. 's, Bros. Follett and F. C. Cox ; Minute Secretary, Bro. JJommett (re-elected). After the election an adjournment was made, when light refreshments were partaken of, the catering for which was, a< usual, carried out by Bio. J. Fraser. The installation earemony was then proceeded with, and I need not say it was done to perfection by D.P. Bro, Simpson, al> the conclusion of which J.P.A., Bro. Thomson, in moving a hearty vote of thanks to the official visitors, wished to express, on behalf of the Lodge, the great pleasure it gave them in reseiving, for the first time, a visit from such a superior officer as the D.G.P., and hoped that both he and the j D.P. would see their way to pav other visits before their term wag up. In reply, Bro. Purnell gave some interesting particulars of the Grand Lodge ; also, some excellent advice, which the officers intend to do their utmost to carry out. The most successful and instructive meeting the Lodge has held for some time then adjourned. .
