WANGANUI CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

At a meeting of delegates from the town cricket clubs, held last night, it was decided to rosuaoitftta the Wauganui Cricket Association, and the folbwjug officers were appointed: —President, W. Etnpson, Esq. ; Vice-Preaident, C. 0. Ketilff, Esc[. j secretary aad trea-, Mr J. M. Marshall. A committee to consist of tiia delegates I to be apportioned as follows.-— Oae!r)in , each club, except when a dub enters two or more t-*ams for the Association's seriO3 j of ma'ches, when ib will ba entitled'to one delegate for eaoh team entered. The match committee are Messrs MaLaan, Walker and the secretary. The subscription .vas fix 3d at 5s for each delegate. It waß d9oided that the secretary write, asking the Wavetley, Maxwelltown and Marton Clubs to join, and abo apply for affiliation with the New Zealand O.ckat Association. A series of Association matches was arranged between teams from the town clubß, for which five toitn3 were entered; two from the Wanganui Cla^, termed A and B, as they are to be as far as possible of equal strength ; oae from the United C vtb, and two from the Collegiats $0)100', of which the second 13 ti be strengthened by an addition of masters. Trie following matches and grounds were arranged for*Che first rouud if the Association matches', the date of commencing being Wt to tb.B match committee to decide when the grounds are lit to play on. i'irst Tie— Wanganui A, a byej United v, Colljgiate chool 2nd, Sahool Ground ; Wanganui B v. Collegiate Scho 1 Ist, Wanganui Ground. Second Tie— Wanganui B, a bye ; Wanganui A v. Collegiate School 2nd, Wanganui Ground; United v. Collegiats School lar, School Ground. Third lie— United, a bye; Wanganui B v, Colle2>at3 School 2nd, 'Wanganui Ground; Wanganui A v. Collegiate School Ist, School Ground Fourth Tie— 'Wangaoni A, a bye ; Uollegiate SAool Ist v. 2nd,SAool Ground ; United v. Wanganni B, Wanganui Ground. Fifth Tie— Waoganui A v. United, Wanganui Ground. Six'h Tie— Wanganui A v. B, Wanganui Ground. E»ch ma'.ch to tike two Saturday afternoon?, and the times of slarting'and drawing stumps to be arranged by mutual agreement. The opinion was genora'ly expressed that the formation of an association would do graat good to the cricket of Wanganui, and the fact of regalat matches being pUyed would be tlia means of popularising the game both with the pUyers and the public. !
