Tne opera pirformud lait night was Pianf|U9tie's " Paul Jones," and beiug the first time Wang.nuites bavo had au opportunity of seeing it, the houso was crowded. Miss Maud Maud B.atty, who undertook the horo, " Paul Jones' " pari", could not havo been betterod, both acting (her forte) and Bioging leaving nctlnns to be desired. The part cf " Chopinette " wa3 dono full justice to by Miss Sis.y Bradford, whe has evidontly made groat progress in her profession, Miss Emily Motcalfe had a difficult pirt iv that of "Kufino da Martin*..," but acquitted herself with credit. Of the uiab iiharac. tors, Mr W. Percy as " Don Tro-.-adoro " p.-ovod that Mr Grattun Kings' pi-J^nos- . tications ciueorning him somo throe yoatß ag ■ havo come tru?, and ha is ceriaiuly v -. young man gifted with grout histronie ability, What can we say of Mr Alfred Stephens as " B.udl.b.ii. -eo," and hio J apprentice "I'otit t.erra," Air C Albert, t Thoy brought down ths house whenever t they appeared, and 1 1 thorn is ti be given c the honour of making the opera intarostiii/f to those who havo not a soul for music. Aye ! the opara is full ot music, . to which evory justice was dono by price pil?, chorus and orchestra the B latter being under the d rection of a : conductor who knows his work. This evening the cimpany peiform " Gir.flj Girofl .," m which Miss Marion Mitchell apposes iv the dual pirt of f-irofle and Girofh (twin sisters). ' Doubtless the compmy's season will bs a huge success. ■*
